This recipe makes great chowder but it's really rich!!
5 cans of clams
1 large can clam juice,
1 lb bacon
1 sweet onion diced
1 quart half & half
1/2 lb butter
thyme and white pepper to taste
2 large potatoes diced
potato flakes

Dice the bacon and onion and potato and start them going in a large soup or stock pot, when translucent add the clams then the juice and herb and pepper( you can add more later if needed) add the half and half and bring to a boil, back off to a simmer then the butter, after the butter is melted and stirred in start adding the potato flakes until it's thick enough for you.
Serve warm to hot with a bread of your choice and enjoy!!
