Ok, so I'm still trying to get situated in my new to me Alpha 199... So far I love it, but ran into a issue at last tournament.

I went to pump out livewell water into tournament bag and never could get water to come out rear port.

I was told that you pull the red valve out inside the livewell & put switch on manual, however I tried a few times and nothing.

What am I missing here ?

Mike Cork

That is correct. Sometimes those valves are tough, make sure you're pulling it out far enough.

The pop out valve moves a good bit.

Do I need to set the switch on the side of the seat to a certain setting also ?

Rotate the gate valve below shift handle to recirculation. Counter clockwise.

Ok, maybe that's the step I'm missing. I'll give it a try this evening

Thanks Mike & Russ

That should fix it. If its in auto, the pump can suck air through the inlet hose.

That makes since now, I thought I could lightly hear air coming from port in rear

Thanks again

Congrats on the new to you 199a.
You will love that boat. I really enjoyed mine.
Fast, great in rough water and handles like its on rails.
Only reason I sold mine was to upgrade to a 21 footer, but sometimes I wish I had my Alpha 199 back.

One thing I did to make filling my weigh bag a little easier was make a removable fill pipe. I put a 90 degree elbow on a 12 inch piece of 1/2 inch pvc pipe. I wrapped electrical tape around the end that goes in the pump out hole to give a tight fit.
I can put bag on the ground, turn on pump and not worry about water splashing everywhere.
Several folks I fish with have adopted it. to their boats.

So far, I am loving the boat.

She is fast enough for me & I tested her out in rough water on the 1st outing (High School Tournament) at Rayburn and was impressed with how well she took it. It was about as rough as I have been in on Rayburn, I took 2 rollers over the bow while running the trolling motor, but ran the main lake without any issues.

I like that idea of the fill pipe, gonna have to borrow that idea. Of course I have to get the water coming out the port first  lo

Got the pump out to work with the info from here, so thanks Mike & Russ199A for the help
