Shark Knot

Watching The Bass Pro's this morning and Zona mentioned the Shark Knot. Never heard or tried this before.



Says the tag ends act as a bait keeper. The Knot I've been tying for the last few years is the Shaw Grigsby Knot. Kinda the same concept, but the Shark Knot looks faster to tie.

Anyone ever use this?

Never heard of it but then again I don't get out much.

I use the Double San Diego Jam not.

Here's the deal.
Shaw doesn't go through the bottom loop like Zona.
Zona doesn't go through the top loop like Shaw.

The Double San Diego Jam Knot goes through BOTH loops.

Shaw and Zona's are both easier to tie and I've done the Shaw Knot while out fishing with a lot of wind.

Never did Zona's........YET.

The death of a fluoro knot is friction...

I really gotta get off my ass and make a video for the knot I use... zero friction, which means zero heat and zero damage....

This is a good knot, knot knocking it but knot a knot I'd use for fluoro.

I wouldn't use anything Zona reck'd LOL he's such a jokester he might be setting me up  love him as an MC

I'm not going to switch off the Shaw Knot I tie unless I start having issues with it. It has no friction when tying either. I use it for everything except punching and I use a snell Knot.

OK, this is a Shark Knot video from Mr. Swindle.......he calls it something else.....but the reason I'm showing it is because......I really want you to pay attention to the ending......he DOESN'T HARD CINCH IT........this in my eyes is where most of us goof tieing Floro Knots....of any kind.
And frankly, I think it has 'ill effects' tieing ANY KNOT on ANY TYPE OF LINE including braid......but that's just my opinion.

i just got done watching this video...i don't care for all that line and such a bulky knot....i use a san diego jam or double uni myself - still waiting for mike's zero friction video

I too am waiting for Mike.
But the Shark, Shaw and Swindle are basically tieing a Double San Diego Jam knot....give or take going through both loops or just top or bottom loop only.

Double takes a little more practice but once used to it.......not really that difficult.
