I am looking for a towable boat cover for a 2016 Ranger RT188.  Does anyone have recommendations or suggestions either good or bad.  I am looking local in Bossier/Shreveport area, but can order online, or custom made.  Looking for a quality cover that will hold up.

I have owned two Ranger Boats and both have had covers made by ranger for ranger.  It just does not get any better than that.  The big problem for most is the cost.  Ranger gets about $1K for their covers but I can say that they last for many years and are of high quality.  I ordered my last one from Ranger, They sent a questionnaire for specific boat, motor and trolling motor information along with the hull number and the cover fit like a glove.

I have a 2016 VS1780 and the Ranger cover is awesome, comes with removable ratchet straps near the back as well.

My experience is that the factory cover is the way to go. Very expensive, but if taken care of, they'll last a very long time. After having bought 3rd party covers twice now, I've learned to spend the money and get something you won't be embarrassed for people to see.

I have seen custom trailerable covers the look and last like factory covers. We have a shop near here that makes them. Prices start around $800, so about the only reason I can see for doing that is if there is no factory cover available.

They are pricy but agree factory is the way to go,,,, there is one custom made but can't remember who right now buddy of mine had one done for his legend but he paid a group for it.

If you haven't yet talk with Big Dave @ Bayou they might have one on hand that will work if not they can order it.

If I had to take a guess Ranger and Triton covers are made by Aurora(sp)... I have one for my Triton that's over 10years old and still looks dam good..

After the Sale, I don't know what they are doing but in the past Ranger indeed made their own covers and seats.

I agree wholeheartedly, my cover is a factory custom from 1998 and is just now in need of replacing or a major overhaul.

I have owned both aftermarket and factory made covers for my boats over the years.  The factory made or factory sold covers are by far the absolute best.  Last for many years if you take care of them and fit the best for towing.
I presently have an aftermarket cover on my Ranger 360V that I am not real happy with it sitting still.  first problem for me is that it is a single console boat and water accumulates on the other side where there is no console.  I have tried several things that have not worked well.  I am looking to see if there are clips you can put on the cover to add additional tension in other places with sewing.  I might try the same things I use on my RV trailer awning for wind.

I used PVC pipe. Put a T on both ends and add short pieces to prevent the bowed pipe from falling. You can trim the pipe to the exact length you need for a tight cover. I used 3 in the Stratos.  Never collapsed under snow or rain.

Now that I have a garage I've passed these to Bigwrench to help keep water from pooling and leaking into the Ranger.
