Try adding a plastic bead to the line between your weight and rod tip.  If you use a stop to peg, peg the bead, thus pegging the weight also.

This actually does a couple of things, it keeps the weight from being reeled into the rod tip and damaging the guide.  Accidents happen, especially in the heat of battle.

It also adds some sound to the presentation.  A different, bead closer to the size of the nose of your bullet weight will assist when going through vegetation, there are a lot of variances available here.
