Went fishing with a friend today in the creeks in the back of Swimming Pen Creek. We got there around 8am to some decent weather. Cloudy and mildly breezy. Friend caught 2 Bass on a trick worm t-rigged and then I joined the game with a t-rigged Bass of my own. It was laying right up next to a Cypress Tree and was about 1lb? I then caught 3 more fish with the biggest being about 2lbs.

All fish were caught on finesse worms and trick worms. I am beginning to see a pattern with using finesse (4" worms) that seems to catch not only numbers but also quality. The color that worked best for me was Chartreuse Pepper by Zoom. I was using a centipede with a 1/8 ounce bullet weight on a 1/0 hook.

I really enjoy throwing small worms and like how sensitive they are. All fish were caught either on laydown trees or standing trees on the edge of the bank. Water temp was 73 degrees. I believe the spawn is stilll going on back there.

The wind really picked up mid morning and blew us around allot. We also were checked by a FWC Ranger and just so you know a vessel over 16' in length is required to carry a type 4 throwable cushion. My friend was unaware of that so I thought I would mention this for anyone else who might not know either.

Stay safe and always wear your life vest when under power.

God bless.
