lake wateree report late april

I spent a few days on lake wateree in late april and we stayed the Shaw AFB military rec area. I primarily fished within a few miles of that area. The lake was a ton of fun the bite was generally good in the morning/evening and afternoon if there was at least some wind. Caught and lost some good bass lots in the 2-3lb range on topwater/plastics in/around docks and small secondary points. Each day something different was needed the first day it was a devil horse and the next a buzz bait. Plastics were either floating worm or senkos.

Lots of bream starting to move shallow and start bedding some giants as well, kids caught a few, a few small white bass and some catfish were also caught.

All in all a good lake!

Water clear 3-4 vis, temp mid 70's.
