Who here uses one and do they really help?

Mike Cork

I don't but yes! I've see a lot of guys go to these so the can run higher motor positions or bigger props. They definitely help.

Fishing is more than just a hobby

I put one on mine. They are mainly installed to help hole shot and slow speed loping. I saw some improvement but not enough to make me run out and get one for my next boat.  The main reason I installed mine was that it is a great place to hang a SI transducer. It worked great for that.
The only thing more depressing than not catching fish is not being able to go

I do, Bud, and it makes a HUGE difference.

I's a real simple vent.  Prevents water from pooling up between the motor and the transom.  Reduces drag, allowing for a smoother, faster holeshot.  Bolts onto your jackplate (on the bottom).
