Hey guys does anyone have any info on markers or paint that can work on a hollow body frog?

I want to perform an experiment on one of my frogs to see if I am get more strikes by taking the red mouth and filling it in with black or white or anything other than red.
I've tried permanent Markers but the market eventually smudges and well isn't permanent lol.

Any ideas from anyone who has successfully altered the color of their frogs?

Rick, I've not tried it. Since frogs are a plastic that may be vinyl or similar, you might try auto upholstery dye used in car interiors.

I was going to suggest fabric paints, but most of them are acrylic and probably won't stick to the plastic frog. I've played with some while making flies and they stick to most porous materials, but not sure about plastic.

Thanks Jim for the advice. That is a good idea. Actually Rust-Oleum makes paint for vinyl and fabric. Might give that a go.

What about that plasti-dip paint? I don't know how durable it is, but it might work?

If you can not get some type of dye/marker to work and your still set on changing the color, you could try "Plastick" (not sure if I spelled that right). It is used as an adhesion promoter for repainting bumper covers on cars and can be found at any auto parts store.

I would first lightly scuff the area your wanting to repaint, then clean with rubbing alcohol, apply the plastick, then paint according to the directions on the plastick.

Thanks Johnny!

For now we will see. I sharpied the red off my frog. Now the mouth is black. Dont know how it iwll hold up in water. I suspect it will be temporary but it could help me determine if painting them in the future is a good idea or not.
