what are these red things called? I use them as trailer hook keepers and need to order more? When squeezed with pliers it opens a small hole to slip hook on.  Thanks

If the hole is a slit (vc a round opening) they're Carolina Keepers.  Gizmo invented to rig a fast and adjustable c-rig.  Also comes in clear/colorless.  TW, BPS, and other major retailers sell them.  Look in the terminal tackle section.

Carolina Keepers is what I've always called them.

Actually I was thinking YOU rock - I woulda never thought of using a Carolina Keeper as a trailer hook stop.  I've had issues lately w/ the little rubber thingies tearing up on me.  You've got a dang good idea here.  I have quite a few CKs in my weight box.  Haven't used them in years.  I will now.  ;)

Great idea, you should put it in our tips section  ~shade could be worth a prize pack in the next contest.

I used to just take a hole punch, cut keepers out of plastic coffee can lids, put a cut disc on the spinnerbait hook, put the trailer hook on, then put another plastic disc on the bait hook.  They worked as good as anything I could find in a store... ~gf
If it bites, I'll fish for it....

You can also use a product called the Bait button that is really great for this application.
