And yes I've used it and YES it works well.

I've used 'MT. Dew' bottles and the green bottles work well too....but not as good as Rick's tip.
Up in WI. we fish nights, everything from Cats to Walleye to Bass and Crappie.
I know guys who have a bottle set up in their storage because they take their kids out panning at night often.
Especially for Crappie!

Many of the bottles came after they gave a bleeding crappie a drink of Soda/MT. Dew first!
