I currently have a Shimano 2500 series spinning reel with Gliss braid. The line is just way to thin to control. If you use braid on 1 of your spinning reels what do you like and use.

I use Tuf-Line at 15lbs with backing of Monoline to prevent the slips
If you havent done that, I would suggest you to do that.

I have always used backing it's just the Gliss is like hair in the wind

I don't usually use braid on my spinning rigs but I have in the past. When I did I used Spiderwire. Even though it was much heavier than I needed, I used 30lb and it did well. Certainly a lot cheaper than decent 8lb fluro in the long run. One spool lasts for several seasons. I just tired of fooling around with leaders. -J

I only use it for finesse deals like a shakey head and the ned...10lb. powerpro and a 6lb. leader

All braid is hair in the wind. The trick is to point the rod in the direction the bait is going. This helps me with braid in the wind. Try and keep your trajectory low.

When I had braid on my 2500 stradic it was with 20lb PP, then I switched back to yozuri. Less hair in the wind, with that type of line.

BankBassBait

I used50# pp, as well as spiderwire ultimate stealth braid. Have you tried using a coated braid, they do better in the wind.
I fish for Black bass as abank fisherman on the San Joaquin Delta River.

I use 10 to 14 lb Fireline with backing and a leader for everything, no problems. I have a couple spooled with Spiderwire Stealth which casts very well for me, I may switch over.

Fused Fireline -- 6lb - 10lb.  Have tried several others including 19lb Gliss, NanoFil, 832, Ultra-Cast... keep coming back to fused Fireline.

It depends on what I am targeting and what cover I will be fishing in. I use 30 pound( 8 pound Diameter) Powerpro when fishing in or near heavy cover.

8lb Fireline on my reels. Nothing higher than 10 pound. The thin line is what makes braid special. Thinner lines cast farther, and your lures run deeper.

What pound test Gliss are you using?

I use Ultracast (spiderwire).

But to be honest with you, 10lb braid is equivalent to like 4lb mono.
If your long casting and there is wind 8 mph or more, try casting side arm instead of over hand.
Keeps line down closer to water and wind effect is less.
Similar to what LMG mentioned.
I'm a habitual 'long' caster, wind or no wind.  ???

Oh, us Northern Boys use spinning gear often....OK, OK, A LOT!   ;D
I got two with braid exclusive.

I lean towards 20lb-30lb braid.
A lot depends what your tossing.
No weight plastics or small lures and thin line are a challenge.
I use 30lb. on weightless stick baits. Actually works better than lighter/thinner braid.
Better control...for me anyways.

10 do not like it at all

I was not aware they made it in 10# test, also Gliss is not a braided line.  At any rate for spinning reels the 18 and preferably the 24# test lines on spinning reels are what most people I know are using.  It is too thin otherwise for most uses.

Man I use a lot of different brands of braids, but none of them under 20lbs test, and can't remember the last time I had problems with them.  Right now I have some stuff from Bullbuster.net, and it has been working well for me.

I also just got some from a Chinese source, Seaknight Tri-Poseidon, haven't gotten it wet yet, but it spooled well and preliminary tests are pretty positive.  It was pretty cheap, $15 give or take for 1000 meters, shipping was slow though.

Only one I had problems with was Nanofil, and I'm pretty sure it was because it was only 15lbs, that was pretty thin stuff for fishing around here.

I like Fireline and the fused Tuffline, I'm just too cheap to dump the big bucks for the miles of it I go through in a year.

Good choice, let us know how it goes for you.

Personally I use a braid that is flouro coated on the outside so it moves better. A kind of hybrid. On my spinning rod though i only have 12lbs test.

FlatsNBay

I'm a huge Power Pro fan and use it on my spinning reels. I won a spool of Tuf Line Super Cast in 12 lb. test and LOVE IT!!! Very manageable, easy to cast, no wind knots and super strong. I need to test it a little more but will probably switch over from Power Pro to Tuf Line Super Cast for my lighter braid needs.

I used Tuff Line original for a long time.  It was fused like Fireline, but much less expensive.  It worked great for me in the salt, until it got to be more than I wanted to spend for line.
