So I finally moved up to a new nitro z18 with a 150 fourstroke and I love it. And I figured it was time.to upgrade some rods so I started switching all over to duckett rods and lews reels. I have 2 crankin duckett 7ft M with a lews bb1l 541. Then I have a duckett micro magic pro 7' MH with a lews laser 7:1:1 for jigs and worms. I was wondering if that jig rod would be a good set up for jigs like 1/8 ounce also. In the winter I fish alot of 1/8 ounce jigs and I'm worried it may be to stiff to feel a big that light. Right now I have 15 pound seaquar flourocarbon on it for a trip to guntersville lake next week. But when I come back I'll be back to using 3/8 and 1/8 ounce jigs. Does anyong else use this set up?

I don't know anything about the rods but the reels are good choices.

Basing my answer on typical rod action, I'd think the MH would be a little too heavy for 1/8 ounce. You might be able to down size your line to 8-10 pound test and get away with it. But I'd look to add a medium action to your arsenal.

Agreed but I would go to a 6.4 to 1 high capacity to the cranking rod and maybe a 7'6" or 7'10" MH cranking rod. For the 1/8 ounce jigs a spinning outfit would be a better choice, easier to control and will throw a light jig farther. A medium action spinning rod with 6 or 8 lb line will handle some pretty big fish and let the light jig have better action.
