Our newest supporter, Get Bit Outdoors, sells rod building kits. This got me to thinking... Trouble I know. But years ago Mother Nature and I poured and sold hand pour western style soft plastics. Part of that was R and D to design a signature color that anglers could only get from us. We had three before we sold the business. It was very rewarding to design a bait and then go catch bass with it.

Get Bit Outdoors has a rod building kit that starts at just 39.95 It comes with all the components and an instruction CD. How cool would it be to build your own rod, custom all the way :-* Your thread color and arrangement, guide placement (standard, Tennessee wrap, or some other idea).

With the instruction CD, even if it ended up with a flaw, you could go back and fix it, or leave it. It would be your flaw, kind of like a scratch on a truck, it's your scratch! Your story. Anyway of subject. Don't like the way the guides were arranged, go back and change them. I've see videos on Get Bit Outdoors that describe how to safely remove a guide. :-*

I know Lee Smith is a master and will always have my custom business but I think it would be cool to build a rod. Excellent Christmas Present idea for those bass anglers on your Santa List :-* Don't send the same old gift card, change it up and send them a rod building kit. There isn't an angler out there, well except maybe Lee, that wouldn't at least try  :-*

There's nothing like building your first rod, then catching your first fish on it!  ;D  Get Bit is the go to place for the beginner for sure.  Their instructional videos are great, Kevin does an awesome job in explaining the details the way anyone can understand them.

Jump off in there and build one or send a kit to a fishing friend, you'll find it very rewarding  ~c~  ~c~

Oh, and if you run into snags, you can always call either Getbit or myself and we'll walk you through it!  ~c~  ~c~

Get Bit Outdoors is building a profile and will be along shortly. They can give us some insight into the blank that is used with the kits.

That's pretty cool. I see a rod kit in my future. I just hope I don't glue an eye to myself.  :help:

I do believe they are using a variety. But doing a quick look online, seems to be our RX6 line.

But the beautiful thing about custom rods, you can choose anything that is within your budget!

Love the Eternity2! Awesome sensitivity!  Only problem I have; since I received it, haven't caught anything with it that was worthy of a pic. LOL
