Soup frpm the Phillipines

I got this recipe from a Filipino lady who makes it year around and made some for me when I was ill. It has exceptional taste and is slightly sweet from the plantains and sweet potatoes. The veggies are cut into fairly large pieces. Much larger than is normal in the US. Total prep and cooking time is about 45 minutes.

Beef Pechero Soup (Philippines)


Saute: garlic, onion and tomatoes


Combine: saute and simmer ingredients. Add vegetables (asian cabbage, chick peas, plantain, sweet potato)



Simmer: beef in water until tender; add salt and pepper to taste

Combine: beef and veggies


Simmer until veggies are done.
