Cedar Bayou was showing signs of waking up from its winter nap, but today seemed like a setback.  The weather was nice, not too hot, not too cool, just enough breeze to keep the spring skeeters at bay, and overcast enough to keep from being cooked by the Texas sun.  There were a few intermittent sprinkles, but more like misting than anything else.

Tides looked good, with two full cycles again in a 24 hour period, but water didn't seem to be moving as well as the two previous days.  There was a slow moving front coming through, with it culminating with heavy rain that night.  I would have thought it a pre font fishing day, but it didn't act like it.

Since it was Good Friday, the park was packed.  There were a number of angling families on the bank, but none were catching fish while I was there.

Today was a day of trying out new items, and formulating some reviews, but the fish didn't cooperate.  It wasn't a skunk out though, I did catch a keeper Croaker, around 10 inches or so.  A hardhead catfish came around and hooked up on my 8lb line rig, making for a nice little fight on light gear.

I did note that the fish came early in the session which started not long after the high tide started to drain.  I wonder if the water is still too fresh for many species' liking.  I am pretty sure that the rains that have blessed our area recently are still diluting the bayou immensely, especially on the outgoing and low tide.

All in all it was a great day, because the weather made it pleasant enough to sit out and enjoy what God has made for us, and watch a few lines dance in the breeze.
