THis is really cool as they have a video camera alongside the lures they are fishing and you can see the flounder chasing the lures, some getting caught, but a lot of misses.  THis would be very educational to help figure out what you may be doing wrong.  He refers to the flounder as flukes, not the lures!

There is nothing like sharing any moment outdoors with someone special!

Very interesting. Lots to be learned there. One thing I caught right off the bat was the time between strike and hook set. Did the angler just not feel the strike or was he hesitant on purpose? He covers a couple good points though :-*

I think he was hesitant on purpose.  Flouder have small mouths and it takes them a while to get the bait in their mouth.  Did you notice at the 2:22 mark, when the flouder missed the bait and came back down he landed right next to a crab...  Pretty cool

I seen that crab. Thought he had a big meal. I wonder how that worked out for each?

Yeah, would've loved to see how that played out.

This video is from the same person, it tells a lot about Flounder.

We usually toss jigs or caroling rigs for them around here, and they always seem to short strike first, like they are killing and carrying off the bait, then they will eat it and swim off, when you feel the thump thump thump of them swimming off, that is when you set the hook.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
