hey mike , how long have yall had that bass pro shops up there ? we have one coming soon. i have never really spent alot of time in the shreveport area , there are some good lakes not to far from there from what i understand. where do yall do most of your fishing ?

We have quite a few folks from Louisiana on the board. I live in Benton, just north of Bossier City. I am originally from Baton Rouge...actually just northeast of the city in Central. I have been here for just over 10 years.

Our Bass Pro has been here for 1 1/2 years. When is the one in Denham Springs due to open?

The fishing up here is so much better than Baton Rouge. No only the closeness of so many different lakes, but the size fish is better. From my house, there are 2 lakes within 5 minutes, 1 within 20 minutes, 2 within 35 to 40 minutes, and several more just over an hour drive.

they still havent even broken ground on the denham bass pro. it has been kind of a big stink down here because some of our parish tax money will be used to fund the building. it went up for a parish vote a couple weeks ago and passed by something like 90% so hopefully construction will crank up soon on that. there is also a cabellas coming to the gonzales area soon. its gettin harder and harder to hold on to a pay check around here

I, like mike live here because the Air Force told me so!

I live just outside Doyline about 2 miles from Lake Bistineau State Park. I can be on the water in under 10min from the time I start my truck. Never thought I would end up in LA but sometimes the GOV can make a good call. Love it here & will stay as long as I can.

Hello pipewrench. I am from Elton, LA just 10 miles east of Kinder & I suppose Rattle. Right now I'm trying to find a place to catch a couple of fish for Saturday. I want to take my dad fishing in my new boat. So if anyone has any idea where a good place would be to go for Saturday, please let me know by either a reply to one of my messages or just msg. me directly. My dad and I were thinking about going to Henderson, but I don't know how the fishing is over there right now so now I'm just looking for suggestions. Later all.

i have been hearing that the basin is producing ALOT of fish lately , i will be going on sunday weather permitting. i have never fished henderson but plan to this year , i have however done fairly good at ramah which is just a couple exits down. so where is kinder ?

LA 190 runs right through kinder and intersects with LA165. To give you an idea of where that is Go west from Lafayette on I10 until you get to Iowa than exit LA165 North. Go about twenty mile North on LA 165 and you will be in Kinder. Go about another 10 miles and you will be at the Casino.

Hi Pipe,

I'm from the Church Point area, just north of Lafayette......If my back permits, I may try and fish Henderson in the morning for a few hours,,,,,if I do, I will report back on the La. reports. that way anyone going Sunday may have a small idea of whats happening.....

No, I have never fished in one. My friend is trying to get me involved. I enjoying fishing to fish and relax. Not sure how much relaxation is in a tournament.

I think it would be fun. I am just starting to bass fish again. I am still in practice mode. I have always fished spinnerbaits almost exclusively. I want to start with some plastics. I just have zero confidence in them.

i am the same way with spinnerbaits. i will throw a spinner till my arm falls off. i'll tell you what though , make yourself learn to fish a jig. i also fish alot of plastics weightless , just twitch em a little and hang on. i will be fishing my first ever bass tourney tomorrow at hilltop (actually canal bank) they have em every wednesday from 5 till 8 , $35 per boat.
