My boat came with Rule 500 gph pumps on the livewells. The port side pump cartridge is cracked and ready to be replaced. I would like to upgrade to the higher 700 gph cartridge to move more water through the livewell. Does anyone know if the 700 gph cartridge will fit the same housing, or would I have to buy the entire pump to get the higher gph?

I read somewhere that a lot of the pros actually replace their pumps with the lowest gph that they can get.  Theory is that they can leave the pumps on all the time with a lot less current draw. Don't know if it's true but does make some sense.  I would bet that the 750 pumps would fit.

Thanks for the info and it does make sense. I've already elected to replace all my pumps completely. More costly but I'll have all brand new pumps and hopefully no problems for a long time.

The last time I replaced my pumps, I was told that these pumps were being replaced with another model that would require you to replace the whole assembly.  Might better check that you can get either one, but I do believe they both fit the same housing.

Yessir, after researching I learned that my model pumps have been discontinued in favor of a newer design. The cartridges are still available online but I prefer to have the option to buy locally so I'm switching all of em over to Attwood Tsunamis. They have good reviews and I can buy replacement cartridges at Academy.

Good call in my opinion, I would rather have something that has parts readily available.
