Spent a few days fishing Patoka Lake. We caught most of our fish in the grass beds. Grass beds were found 15-20 yards off the bank with the grass submerged 6-12 feet. Caught several nice fish on square bill 2.5 crankbaits in Shad patterns. The square bills shined fishing the taller grass that came up to about the 6' level as the crankbait just ticked the tops of the grass. Also caught fish on a variety of soft plastic baits but the 10" worm was the most productive. This was the ticket for catching better quality fish out of the deeper grass. We had a limit all 3 days and each days total was over 15 pounds. Wednesday 07/02 was our best day with more numbers and biggest fish which was right at 5.5 pounds.
