Ok I fish spinnerbaits often, and I fish several different brands and styles. Some I prefer more because of unique characteristics. So I'm thinking why can't I build my own spinnerbaits with all my favorite characteristics in one bait.

First here is a Hildebrandt Titanium Flex-Tek. No longer made and I no longer have any left. It was a stand by for me for years . This is the best image I could find online. It was made with 100 pound titanium wire with a ring you tied too.  Much like a piano wire Spinnerbait it had great vibration and was more weedless, it also came with a wire weed guard. The ring you tied too was adjustable so you could change the action of the bait. I want to use this wire design with the weed guard, and adjustable ring for line tie. Here is the image I found.

Next is the Taylor Manns custom Spinnerbait. It has a free swinging hook and I rarely have a fish throw my Spinnerbait or tear off with this bait. The free swinging hook really works and I want to incorporate that free swinging hook design. Here is an image of the Taylor Manns Spinnerbait. I still have several of these but I swiped the image from online so I didn't have to dig thru tackle.

Next is the hidden weight Spinnerbait. I build  these and get the heads from lure parts online. I really like the hidden weight design makes the bait have a smaller profile but still keeps the weight I want. I also feel they balance and run better in the water. I think combining this head design with the free swinging hook could give me fits.  Here is an image of a hidden weight head.

So what do I need component wise to build these? What input do you guys have? I am open to any ideas. Seems like this bait would be a real winner, but ya never know until you get it put together.

Sounds like fun. I might try building some spinner baits too. These are all great ideas although I have never used that free floating hook design. You also need to think about the perfect skirt. I really like the material that nutech uses. It doesn't clump together as some others do.

with the free swinging hook. are those still in production? did you use the wide gap hook on them or change to a straight shank? and lastly, what about a trailer hook on it?
