I know our anglers are and have been waiting on a new date for the next Bud Light Trail event to be held on the Red River.  At this time there hasn't been a new date selected because of the difficulty's finding an opening with all the other scheduled events not just in the USAfishingtrails.com sanctioned tournaments but here in our own back yard as well.  The USA Fishing Trails team are working on it and once I know the new date I will post it here for everyone.

I hope to be able to purchase the equipment needed for our very own set up for next year, it isn't cheep  ~sweat but it will allow us more freedom in selecting open dates and making the move to some/all Saturdays in the future.

Thank You for the PM's/Text's and calls I understand the desire to have the date nailed down and can only advise the time be used when able to prefish the River for our last event.

Any Questions or suggestions please contact me.

Do the guys from the USA fishing trails HAVE to be here? I know I'm fine doing the tournament without the Bud Light trailer being here. All we need are some scales, and call it a day.

I am going to be upset if I can't fish the championship because of this.

So your telling me that this tournament was canceled for two people?? That's BS!!! And no notice or phone call about the change !!! This site isn't my life so I very rarely visit this site so I just seen this post and made plans for the week end !!! This post isn't very clear to about the cancelation so I had to call the main guy at bud light !!! Think I'm done with this trail !!!

ffsmiley

~xyz Bye Bye Bud Light Trail! You've duped me out of $400 for this season but I guarantee you will not see another penny from this angler. To cancel a tournament without notifying the teams that are fishing the tournament trail (not that there was a lot of teams to contact anyway) but the reason for cancellation in absolute BS. Good riddance!

I was doing some rough math correct me if I'm wrong do the payouts match the entries ?!?

HogWild

From what I hear a select few couldn't fish due to other trail championships...so to accommodate them it got moved

I didn't understand why there wasn't many people fishing this trail, but now I see the light !!!! Never again for me  ~b~

This was all discussed at the weigh-in on Bistineau and no one had any negative issues over the suggestion to move the date.

The Tournament Trailer & equipment needs to be at each location an event is held be it TX, OK, AR South LA or here.  I'm sorry people were not called personally I can only believe that they figured those that have been fishing were at Bist but I don't know.  I do know that this trail has made 3 attempts to take off here so we can host a Championship here on the River in the future and they have every intention of being back next year to make that happen.  The Bud Light Trail posted our full schedule before any other trail and unfortunately with the limited weekends each year some of them were double booked.

When we are having small turnouts it is only expected for a trail to support the anglers fishing it when they ask for consideration due to other events and when NO ONE objects to it  :-\  there isn't any reason not to try and help.

As far as the payouts not matching the entrée fees who do you think are paying for the championships? Tell me any other event offering paid entrees for the AOY, $175,000.00 in championship boats/cash/prizes and still manages to pay out over a Grand to 1st place, $500/$600 2nd and give out Nav chips and or the new Gary Loomis rods out as door prizes?  The guys at USA Fishing are not making a dime on running our events and have expended a lot of cash and time to try and build a circuit here for us with a great payout for a reasonable fee and huge Championship payouts.

I totally understand being frustrated but dang guys  ~beer~

My partner and I were unable to fish the last event so we weren't able to object to the change, and if we miss out on the championship because we can't fish this last tournament then that's horse shit.

Whether or not anyone objected there is irrelevant.   There are 10 or so of us that have been fishing throughout the season, an effort could have been made to contact everyone.  I strongly recommend that all available dates are filtered through those of us that wanted to fish the championship before any decision is made.  The two at the top dont even need this tourney, they have already locked in.  Its crap, and we all know it is..well except for the couple of people that wanted to fish their other trails this weekend.
