Ok guys, lets get the board moving...  ~b~

What modifications have you made to your triton after you got it?

I did an electronics swap to my 09 triton explorer hp 18. I bought mine used two years ago and put a lowrance elite 5dsi on the console and an elite 5x on the bow. I installed a timer on the livewell recirc pump so the pump will run for 1 minute, every 15 minutes. I installed a 6" jackplate, hot foot, and blinker trim switch about a year ago. A few days ago, my motor guide 71# trolling motor bit the dust so I replaced it with a minn kota fortrx 80# with the built in sonar.

I think my next upgrade will be a prop. When I got the boat it had a 4 blade 22p power tech prop. I want to go to a 23p tempest plus. I also wouldn't mind getting some new lid latches. The plastic ones I have are wore out. I really like the chrome ones.

So what have y'all done to your tritons?

Andrew

All I did when I got my triton was to take the lowrances off and install all my humminbirds. I plan on at some point soon to put in some led lights around the edge of the boat. I really want some 10ft power poles but just can't part with the 5 grand to do it.

I know what you mean andrew. I want some 8 footers, but they're a fortune. Maybe I can get them one at a time.

I went to two cranking batteries (I run the Opti 200, and it is a power sucking beast). two years ago, I upgraded to a 36 volt, 109# motorguide (Yes, that is 5 batteries).  Just installed a HB 899 on Friday.
And installed a Hydrowave two weeks before that.

How to you like the Hydrowave? I personally have mixed feelings about it. What's your thoughts bassthumb?

Bobby....We have the same rig buddy!!!  I too have an 09' Triton 18HP Explorer Dual Console with 150 Merc and Motorguide TM.  I added a HotFoot right out of the door.  I also added an HDS 5 Gen1 at the console.  I am going to add a 6" Jackplate when I get back from this deployment and I just bought a HDS7 Gen2 to put at the console and move the HDS 5 Gen1 to the bow.  I would like to add a timer like you did Bobby and also need to add a water pressure guage for the Jack Plate.  I want to add some compartment lighting in the near future so I dont have to wear a headlamp in the early mornings.  Let me know how the timer install was for you Bobby and where you got the timer.  Thanks and FISH ON!!!

I got the timer from Academy.I thought it was a 15 minute timer, but after looking it up it's 7 minutes.  It was intended to be something you put in the dash to change the amount of time the pump will run. I believe it has a 1:1 on to off, 3:1, 7:1, constant on and off.  I've attached the link below. What I did was installed it on the wires going to the recirc pump it's. it only takes 5 minutes to install. I figured out which one were the negative wires and hooked them together on the timer. Then I took the positive wire and landed it on the timer's positive connection and hook the output on the positive wire going to the motor. I then zip tied the timer up to the hoses in the back and left the knob on 7:1.

When I flipped recirc switch on the timer in energized and begins counting. After 7 minutes the recirc pump will come on for 1 minute and turn off and begin counting 7 minutes againg. If you need any help, let me know.

Bobby, I have fished with other folks that have them, and believe that anything, real or perceived that gives me an advantage, I will try it.  So, two weeks ago, I bought one and installed it.

I live in the upper plains, and there are only a few lakes we routinely fish with shad in them (and as of last week, most still were ice covered).

I have not turned it on in the water yet, so my experimentation has not yet begun.

However, I do fish rather regularly south of I-70, and every lake down there is shad laden; and I will be fishing at Table Rock in 6 weeks.

Keep me posted when you hit those lakes that are full of shad. All of our lakes are full of shad. I'm curious.

I added 2 touch 9 s power pole blades and a hydrowave. Its an addiction, $till shopping!

I added the second power pole and installed an Easy View tackle storage system, which is an under lid style system. Other than that, I've put random carpet decals on the boat. Still trying to figure out how that is suppose to help me catch fish but at least the boat looks cool now.

I have a 2013 Pro 17 with 115 ProXS.

Let's see...I have:

-installed SeaStar hydraulic steering
-installed 8' PowerPole
-installed MercMonitor
-installed Humminbird 597ci HD at console
-installed Humminbird 999ci HD at bow
-installed gas pistons on front deck lids
-installed 6" Z-Lock jackplate
-replaced all tires with radials

Only things left I want to do is blinker trim and hotfoot.

Love this little boat...she runs 54mph GPS.

I got the shocks and brackets from Triton.  My lids were already drilled for the brackets but the fiberglass on the other end was not predrilled.

Bobby Saffel

Could you post pictures? I'm thinking about adding this to mine.

Did you contact a Triton Dealer to get the shocks and brackets or order from their website?
