Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the 3/4 oz. Blitz football jig has arrived and is now available to order.  We do not have them up on the website yet, but you can call or drop a note, and I will get you hooked up.

whatever i can get them to bite on ~roflmao.  on the serious side, there seems to be certain colors that work better at different times of the year.  i night fish a lot and even in the dark of the moon, it seems that different shades work better at various times of the year.  for daytime in the spring, when using silicone or rubber skirts, it seems that browns, or green pumpkin with some strands of green and orange work very well.  more into summer, i leave out the orange most of the time.  but, there is one color that i have found to be very effective here in our area, and it is a dark brown with a dark blue.  for whatever reason it has just been a effective color for me in the daytime.

night time is a whole different ball game.  dark colors for sure, but i have had nights that other colors blended in with the base color would get bit faster.  the dark brown and blue on moon lit nights has always been hard to beat.  brownies at night seem many times to have a preference for some red in the skirt.  i really believe that color preferences of the bass for a crawdad looking bait depends on your particular area, and what your crawdads look like at a specific time of the year.  case in point.  night fishing here with a full moon, and the water temps from 50 to 58, a orange hair jig coupled with a black 800 spring lizard pup can not be beat.

if those darn bass could talk, they would be much easier to figure out how to catch them lo.

I use "Whiskey Sour", "Reverse Summer Craw" and black/chartruese  on football heads at LOZ during the day and basic black, brown or my 4 color night jig at night. It's been so long since I've night fished at Table Rock,  I'd probably just use your colors.

wizard, i think that it still just breaks down to putting your lure in front of a bass.  i have caught lots of bass on falcon on colors that the locals do not throw, but they are just basic colors to me that pretty much will work any place that i have been.

That is ALWAYS the main objective in fishing. Find forage, find bass, put the lure in front of the bass.  Really pretty easy. Now if the bass will just co-operate.

Why, is it a law?

It is.  ::) As of January 01, 2012. No lead jigs or sinkers under 1 oz. The twisted reasoning was that based on the deaths of 9 loons over a two year period whose stomachs contained lead fishing weights, loons are supposedly in danger of becoming extinct in Massachusetts, and the lead sinkers and jigs are what is killing them. The idiocy in all of this is that loons are in no danger in MA, and they are only present on 14 bodies of water throughout the entire state.

If the DFW was dumb enough to accept the loons as the reason for the ban why didn't they just ban lead on the 14 bodies of water where the loons are present? The real purpose is clear.

we have more loons here on table rock than you can shake a stick at.  just as the lowly armordilla, the loons are spreading.  we have more of those possums on a half shell than texas does.

you are right about why government is big on banning lead, and that gets back to guns.  they have not got them yet, so, they are trying to prevent making bullets.
