Caught me a mess of walleye!

The walleye are starting a spawning run in the river that runs through my town. They are very easy to catch right now because they are very aggressive and are kind of funneled into one area because there is a series of spillways that they can't get past. The limit here is 5 fish with no culling. I managed to catch 5 but kept 4 of them. Those 4 ranged from 3 to 5 pounds and were all full of eggs. I'm planning to go again after work today.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't caught many walleyes but the one thing I do know is they are good eat'n and at 3-5 pounds a lot of fun to catch

I went out again today and the fishing wasn't quite as good. I only managed to catch 2 but they were both over 3 pounds. Plus another guy gave me his only fish before he left. So I still managed to bring home 3 great tasting walleye. I'm going to head out again before sunrise in the morning if it's not raining.

Loading the freezer  I get so caught up in tournaments I forget to do this. We have crappie that most people think are mutant fish, if they aren't 15 inches we don't keep them. I need to get busy myself
