Before anyone says anything...I know this is a bass fishing site, but was lookin' for a lil' help :help: on fishing G.B. for white perch. Will be using shiners. My father and uncle are coming down from Michigan for a visit and sure would like to put em' on some white perch. They are flying in tomorrow and staying for 2 weeks. Never did any white perch fishing down there but figured it would be free from salvania vs. Caddo. Thanks for any info guys.

I saw a man catching them around the buoys at the dam a couple of weeks ago.  I went there last week after the rain and a lot has changed.  The water was up and flowing over the dam.  There were some people fishing on the catwalk but I didn't see anyone catch anything while I was there.  I always see crappie fishermen working the open water over the main channel.  I have also seen them fishing along the bridge lately. I know there are plenty of brush piles along the edges of the channel and just west of the bridge that I have seen on my sonar.  I would probably try to find some of them and try my luck there first.

Like John said, the bridge can be very good. I think the first two post on both ends of the bridge are the best. Both have brush and the creek spilts right there so you have deep water by both ends. Also, if you come out about 75 yards, there is a hump out toward the main lake. Right in the middle of the creek. Big stumps on it, it can be great for white perch and sometimes a green perch will hold on those stumps this time of year.

Hey Danisfish, thanks ... I do know where that hump is out from the bridge and will scout around it a bit too. Thank you and hope the Saints beat up on those cowgirls' this sunday night!
