A bit of everything such as baseball and soccer but focused on track (800 meters/1600 meters) and cross country.

Played baseball from 4yrs old to 24 yrs old.  Football from 12 - 20.  Played BB on an awesome JUCO team in Coffeyville, KS, came home and played a couple of years for McNeese State in Lake Charles then went into the Met's orginization for a few years in AAA, but decided if I stayed in it, that's probably as far as I would get.  Football was a secondary sport for me, but, the only one I ever had a National Championship in.  Played Strong Safety for the National JUCO Champion Coffeyville Red Ravens in 1990.

obviously those ankles really slowed you down...   lo

They did for sure.  BTW, I see you are from Omaha.  My son Rod Mason played basketball for Creighton, and later for Omaha Racers in the CBA, before going to Europe for a pretty good career.

I played baseball and football in high school.  Went on to play college baseball at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and then transferred to St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC.  In the summer of 2004, I had a workout with pirates and cincinnati reds, Pittsburg verbally told me i would be in their farm system come the draft in 2005.  However, my body had other plans.  Tore my rotator cuff and the college opted not to pay for the surgery since i did it playing lacrosse.  Never played ball again.  Dropped out and join the Air Force.

Surfing.  Yes, some schools have surfing teams.  Pretty fun to spend  practice and "game time" out on the water, doing what I would have been doing anyways, and getting credit for it.   ~shade

I also ran track, played soccer, and played football.
Yes, that is a gator in my profile picture, but I was trying to catch a bass, so it counts!
One 3ft long, 10 pound "Largemouth" for me.

Football, Wrestling, Baseball. Also did MMA but that was back in the mid nineties before it was so mainstream and commercialized.

High school was ice hockey - defense and right wing, and baseball - mostly first base but any infield position. In college I didn't have too much time for sports but I did go back to studying Tae Kwon Do for about three months. Then I hurt my back pretty badly and that was the end of the fun. Was actually a blessing though because that lead to me getting more serious about fishing and in a roundabout way lead to me meeting my bride of 20 years.

In high school it was tennis and motocross.  Tore my knees up so bad I had four surgeries in three years in my early twenties so that ended both.  Then started racing cars only to injure an arm pretty good.....two more surgeries.  Now that I'm in my fifties I spend my spare time in the yard or on the water......both are much easier on the body.

I love how many guys wrestled on this forum!

I wrestled from 6 yrs old til I graduated high school. I wrestle in college and I'm the assistant varsity wrestling coach behind my uncle at my old high school.

When wrestling grew burdensome I played rugby. Two years in high school on a 19u team and now I volunteer coach for them.

Its great to hear guys giving back.  THat is what keeps sports going and hopefully teach kids the right way to do things.  Like it or not, you start to become a role model

I am 40 now and have started helping out in my sons different sports.  It is nice to know I can still compete in wrestling, even at my age.  I may have lost some speed and timing, but the kids can see the drive and determination.  It makes for a great bonding moment, the same as taking them fishing!
There is nothing like sharing any moment outdoors with someone special!

I organized the first Louisiana high school bass tournament in 1973 along with our sponser, Coach Jack Williams, at West Monroe High School. The tournament was held at Turkey Creek outside of Winnsboro. one my best friends Chris Bowman won it with a weight of 4# 4 oz. We had about 14 entrys if I remember correctly. At LA TECH, I became heavily involved in "partying", which caused me to not fish as much until later in life!
The Road goes on forever and the Party never ends.
