Members,
Does anyone else have issues with pain, due to fishing all day,and if you do what do you
take to help, I'm currently taking fish oil, and osteo biflex, which helps but after a torunyment,
I hurt for two days. My love for fishing out weighs the pain, but I'm afraid it could get worst,

This is a vvvveeeerrryyy common problem among anglers older than 35 and the only true fix your not gonna like. Stop fishing for 4-6 months. Unfortunately it's true. I lived with it for a year by getting steroid shots once a month until I sold my boat and quit fishing for 4 months. In that four months I did some serious PT and continue with those lessons today (4years later). I still have minor flare ups but Motrin and alternating hot and cold helps.

I used the tennis elbow band that you can get at CVS or any sporting goods store for that year and it helped. But there were still times that I thought someone was driving a knife in my elbow just because I picked up a cup of coffee.

Good luck. Look up tennis elbow relief exercises on google to get you started.

Mike,
Thanks for info, and your right it's not something I want to hear but could be force to.
I think I'm going to try some joint juice and see if it don't help. It does keep me from,
fishing cranks and also from prefishing. Will let everyone know how the joint juice works
or not,
Thanks,
Mike Z.

Please keep us posted. I've got mine under control but if there is something out there that would stop it, I'd be all over it.

Keep in mind that it's not a joint issue, it's a tendon issue. Not sure what you're looking at trying. The biggest things that helps me is stretching my fore arm and wrist before fishing.

I use the Phiten necklace. I wear it religiously, 7 days a week, and it helps a lot. I have quite a few joint, tendon and bone issues, results of a very well spent youth, and my pain is way down. I do limbering exercises, a small about of " weight training" and wear the necklace. It works for me, my wife and my triathlete brother. Give them a shot, an honest shot.

Mike, I had the same issue for about 6months or so about 15 years ago.  The tennis elbow strap did the trick for me. It took the pressure off the tear or strain and allowed it to heal or go away or whatever it did, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore.

You might try naproxen instead of Motrin. It is a lot better anti inflammatory. I broke my back jumping our of a helicopter a couple of years ago and it keeps me going. I can even throw a 7oz Deps slide swimmer 250 all day with no ill effect :D.
