What prop?
What are your Max RPM's?
What is your water pressure when trimmed up and running?
What is your top end speed?
What is your hole shot like?
Do you have a Hydraulic JP or Manual and what is the set back 6 or 10?

Also you need to set up your boat to be like you want to fish.  Don't do your tests empty in gear, live wells or fuel.  If you tend to run 1/2 a tank of gas than test there.  If you run your boat loaded down like a tackle store test it like that.  Make sure you have the gear distributed evenly as best as you can.

A 25 or 26 tempest plus you should be able to start out 3.3/4 to 3.5 below pad and move up until water pressure drops or RPM's go up but speed stays the same or drops.

You should be able to run a 26 and or a 27 furry but it depends on the load you carry in your boat and those like to run a bit higher.

Just a 1/8 to a quarter of an inch up or down can make all the difference in the world with the right prop.

10" setback

tempest 25.5 pitch prop guy in longveiw added some pitch and cup to it

i havent gotten any less than 5800 running at any height in the 3.5/3.75 range of height im running pushing 6k but cant seem to break 70 mph the boat seems like it just doesnt quite want to get out of the water, hard to steer i keep the same tackle and usually a lil over a half tank any time im on the water. its manual jackplate and its very aggravating ive changed it no less than 20 times

water pressure stays consistent at an height really never has gotten below 12 psi  @ WOT usually stays betwen 15-20

I ran a 26 tempest plus on my 2003 Nitro 929 with a 225 opti pop and could hit 70.4 with my 25 tempest I'd run 68.7 all day long.

I think you need to look at the Furry line and go with a 26 or 27

Let me get with my bud Hub and ask what he is running I know he went to the furry but forgot what size.  More to come  ~gf

I put the 26P Fury on and set the jackplate to 3.25 inches below pad.  Not sure if that's the perfect spot but it handles well and has a good hole shot.  Top speed (fully loaded) with just me on GPS is 72.4 MPH.

I picked up my Fury from Jaco marine ($469) drop shipped to my door.
