It will be a real testament to the boat if they pull it out of those trees and he keeps fishing ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

Yes, it's fantastic that they are not hurt  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

At this point I don't reckon there is much else to do but smile for the cameras.

Early morning conversation with Becky Iaconelli was that Mike was running thin water trimmed up and jacked up, hits a log or stump and nose comes down rudderless, which tucks it right up the bank.

Bet it was a fun ride, after it stopped and everyone was ok.

I went rutterless on Toledo doing about 40 mph in 2ft swells and it was not fun and I stayed in the water....totally helpless feeling.  I hit a tree that was water logged and only had about 2 inches of wood sticking out of the water...it knocked the motor completely out of the water and locked in the full up position and cowling went flying between me and my partner and landed on the front deck.  Not sure how he stayed in the boat as we bouced sideways through the waves.  I think their ride was a little more interesting than mine.

That's the one thing that scares me all the time on the Rivers here, the floating debris that is just under the water...   :surrender:

I've seen logs the size of a telephone pole stand straight up in the channel of the red river. Fast water is crazy.

Ike's boat is good. A crack maybe and the rub rail torn, plus a few scuffs on the bottom.

Elwood

The floating tree I hit was all the way accross the boat row and atleast 3 feet in diameter....the boat jumped out of the water when I hit it and the rest of the ride described was history.  I was driving a 1995 Pro-Gator V170 and it and went through three motors before I sold that boat with a few minor stress cracks in the transom but still very solid.  Leroy Moore can build a boat and still builds some outstanding bassin machines.

I hope Basscat uses this to promote their boats.  What better way to demonstrate how your boat is made and what it can stand up to.  Just drag it back into the water and continue fishing. ~shade

Before he had it wrapped, I remember seeing in Facebook that he had the bottom coated with something, have to find the post later.
