Bad day fishing

Well only fished about a hour, caught a nice smallie thrn my trolling motor took a crap on me the momentary switch quit working, constant switch won't work got power from battery to plug but once it hits bottom of the foot pedal loses all power idk if it fried or relay is out the breaker in the back (50) amp had been popped so I reseted it n still nothing lol guess its time for a trolling motor n beer lol

My MG did something similar...I found a loose ground in the head (obvious) and in the male plug (factory sealed) I found the ground was corroded open....changed out the plug and I'm a troller again.

Idk what's wrong with I just went to the foot and stopped, if I cld get it to where I cld just run constant till i get money saved up I'd be happy lol, I mean the plug on the ground side was melted down a little ground wire has turned colors an idk crap about electrical

Hoop Goobner

Had a heck of a time a few years ago with a circuit board that kept frying in the foot pedal of a minn kota.  Symptoms sound similar.  Got juice, but trolling motor is completely dead.  We're on our 3rd circuit board and (knock on wood) it has lasted about 2 years

Thinking that's what it is but going in it again today so we shall see

This is amusing to me because I had to do something similar the other weekend. Had to take the plug apart and had to direct connect the battery on the front deck. Not sure with your wiring system. I only have a 35lb motor guide that runs through 2 fuses. I kept blowing 20s. Has a 20amp and a 30 amp in. Blew the 20 anyways. Have 2 30amp fuses in and havnt had issues since.
I'll do my talking on the water.
