It's that time of year!!! And it sounds like your right in the middle of it. Keep casting, the next one could be bigger, especially on Grand Bayou!!!!

Ok back at the camper waiting on the fam damily to get here

Wind was a steady 20+ gusts to 35 as I was just fun fishing today and with the wind like it was I was blown in the bank just unhooking and weighing the fish but I have one shot from a solid 5 from this afternoon right by the ramp and out of the wind and I grabbed two shots of my scales total weight. Best stringer ever and as Fogy luck as it is I'm always a day early or dollar short  ~b~

But what a day  ~gf

The part I can't decide on yet is was it cool to be able to see her or not. She came up about 25/30 ft from the boat right as the bait came free and just laid on her side for a sec or two before she knew she was free and splash she was gone LOL

Great day of fishing BUT my wife has no sympatthy for the "big one that got away".  Last week I lost a nice 4 lber at the boat and she said "did you actually have it in the boat?  Well then it doesn't count".  Women just don't get it, for the most part, lol. About losing a big fish that is.   ;D

I feel your pain, man.

Two weeks ago, I hooked onto a huge shark and got it to about 20 feet from the pier when it cut off, all I got to see was the fin.  :'(

Its kind of a relief though because I have no idea how I was going to get that thing up the pier to unhook it and release it.

I was amazed how long I kept it on considering I was using 80lb mono leader.
