I just bought a 2009 pt170.  I have had it out a few times and I noticed it takes on water.  Its not enough to panic but I have to pull the drain plug and let it drain for a while.  I know its not from water splashing over the sides or anything like that.  The first time I thought the drain plug was loose so I made sure that was tight the next time out and it still had water.  The livewell was taking on water to,  about an inch and the drain was tight.  So I have no idea about that.  Im just wondering if anybody had this same problem or any ideas before I take it to the shop.  I might try to fill it with the hose in the driveway and see if I can see it coming out somewhere.  I think it might be one of the fittings from the livewell but I dont know for sure.  Hopefully I didnt buy a lemon.  Thanks in advance for the help .

I had the same problem with my new 2007 175txw tracker. I took it back to Bass Pro Shop and they found out that the airieter pump was pushed in but not turned and locked in. They had to use colored water to prove it. It was a problem found out from from the builders. A shop notice was sent to all bass pro tracker outlits to check it. service bullitin. relocked my pump and the boat has been dry. Pumps push in and turn right to lock in, bilge pump stopped working,  out of warrentty, replaced the pump for 20.00 dollars, same thing, push in and turn right to lock in.

Some times the recirc pump gasket moves a bit, you can open it up and see if the thing moved, but if it's under warranty, let them do it so if it happens again you have a record of it...if it's not under warranty, that's an easy check.  I would think it's likely something with the livewell hoses or something like that, after all, we all have Mondays sometimes...

My 09' 175TXW was taking on a good bit of water from the first time out.  First, I got rid of the factory drain plug.  Next, I discovered that the transducer mount was not caulked.  After I applied some caulking to that area the amount of water decreased a good deal.  It still takes on water, but only less than a quart.

Thanks for the info I was gonna try a new drain plug to see if that made a difference.  I will look at the transducer to see if thats the problem.  Redfish does your pumps sit straight up and down or no.  Mine is cocked to the left a little bit,  I tried to push in and turn but I cant get my bannana hands in there to reach it. Im gonna have my nephew try to get his hands in there.

mine are almost straight up and down. If you take your front wheels and turn all the way down, then induce water from the drain plug. look to see if you see any water coming out from your welds(lots of water). put plug in and jack your front wheel all the way up and check for leaks. then turn on your bilge pump to insure it works.  if know leaks pull plug. drain boat.   know turn front wheel all the way down again, lift rear aft door up and watch, fill live well all the way up and turn on airiater and watch pump through aft door for leaks. check inside bottom for water. turn on recirculate also. watch again. if you don see any thing then drain live well. then induce water with hose through livewell intake , watch pump motors again. thats all they did at the bass pro shop. found mine not locked in.

I have a 2007 170 tx bought it new in the last year I have had multiple corrosion holes that have worked there way through the hull looks like places that welds were made  now thee is 2" long hairline cracks under the runners I have to patch after every use .. I end up draining about 5 gallons of water after a 5 hour use. I am very disappointed in this boat If i had it to do all over never would have gone aluminum .. also the factory cleats are all corroded up and the trailer axle and leaf support rusted out.. If your going to make a boat or trailer they all should be corrosive protected I wash this boat after every use and flush the motor after every use boat all the corrosion is a nightmare

Not all aluminums are created equal, I do not own a tracker and won't knock one on their forum but you could have gotton one that was abused or a bad one from the factory, I have an xpress with no issues but I am sure there are people out there that have had issues with them too.

I am guessing you are using it in a salt water environment?  Sounds like you should have paid for the optional galvashield trailer (Tracker recommends this trailer for folks that use their boat primarily in saltwater).  You do realize that aluminum and saltwater are a bad mix no matter who built the boat, right?  I agree, you should have bought a glass boat.
