Miracle Strip Bass Club fished their monthly club tournament yesterday, the day following the annual Docie Bass Memorial Bass Tournament.  The Docie tournament held Saturday was won with a weight of 21+ pounds - 7 fish limit.  Second place had 15+ pounds.  The lower end of the delta is loaded with small fish, but even they were not eating real well.  My partner and I had lower unit problems at our third stop forcing us to idle to an alternative launch and we weighed nothing (not that we had all that much to weigh).

The club tournament came Sunday morning and we all threw $20 in the hat and we all just went fishing.  The bite remained tough - especially between tidal flows. My partner and I fished hard on the trolling motor all day and managed to catch 9 of our 10 alotted keepers.  My 4 keepers included the big bass of the tournament (3.74lbs) and weighed 6.60lbs - good enough for the win.   ~sun My partner caught 5 small keepers for 5.26lbs and finished 3rd. Soaking plastic was what finally worked for us - super slow day as each cast/retrieve took time to complete. Moving baits proved fruitless - fish were not chasing anything. Topwater - usually one of the best producers normally did not get any looks.

Taking my boat/motor in to get it looked at this week.  Hoping I hear some good news - but expecting bad.  Suspect I have a bearing issue or a tooth or two missing on the gears. My insurance company may likely get a call sometime soon.  :'(
