I am trying to get some opinions on a garage for a boat. I'm not intrested in the open air cover, I want to be able to lock the boat in the garage. Concrete floor is a must. Question is what's the best route to take? I guess someone has already traveled down this road?

Pour a concrete pad to size and go talk to your nearest open air type dealer. They have options to completely seal them in.

Dream Garage. For my Ranger. Drive through. 5 Ft clearance front without collapsing tongue. 5 ft clearance rear with motor in tow position. Electric hookup for battery charging, shop vac and other needed tools for boat maintenance. Gargage fans to keep the air moving when things get wet to aid in drying. Lights for last minute prep and early morning departures. Shelving full wall length with room to move between boat and shelf.  extensive rod holder and work bench with spooling station and air compressor. To keep cost down, a Morton or other metal building would be Perfect.  Of course a fridge to keep the worms cool.....Hear they work better.

I just built a house in Mar, and I planned a complete "bay" for the truck and boat.  I put in a tandem bay, 50' long, 11'8" wide.  I can park my F150 and Triton TR196, hooked up, with motor on the toter, with enough room to walk completely around the entire rig.

I have overhaed power installed and run my charger cord from a retractable system mounted on the ceiling.  The overhead lights are on a motion sensor, which come on when I turn the corner or when the boat breaks the front door (when backing in).

I bought (one for now) a rolling steel, lockable cabinet (from Sam's Club) to store tackle in, and will purchase the second one this fall.  I keep it/them at the end of the bay far left and right, so the motor and prop can come all the way to the way if needed (in between them).

I am asking Santa for a shop compressor this non-denominational holiday event (x-mas), a bench and some pegboard will follow soon.

My garage has 10' ceilings, so I am also entertaining high-mounted cabinets or shelves in the rear of the boat-bay so I can buy and store even more fishing stuff!

All I can say is when building, garages are relatively cheap, so plan big!

My wife may never figure this out, but I have room for a full sized truck and a 21' rig...
