Just got my new shimano stradic 2500 ci4 in and I'm having some issues with the anti-reverse. With the anti-reverse on, it is not preventing the reel from back reeling. With any moderate pressure, it does not hold and it goes into reverse. The handle actually come loose turning backward. The cap is on tight on the other side, but it's not staying. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks for the help.

So is it just the handle coming loose or is it actually back reeling then coming loose? I just got the same reel and haven't noticed any issues. It will back reel with the switch flipped, then won't when flipped to the other side. The handle will come
loose when pulling against the anti reverse, but it should. That's how you take the handle off.

just making sure it's normal to almost instantly come loose ( like taking the handle off) with the anti-reverse on. I'm use to if it's in anti-reverse, it goes no where with the older stradics. It doesn't back reel with the anti-reverse. Thanks

Have you tightened down the handle all the way?  I had this issue with some Shimano reels upon initial purchase and that was just because i hadn't tightened the handle down.

Pro Reel

Grab the front of the reel and while holding the rotor from spinning, tighten the handle firmly.

I had the cap on tight, but didn't tighten the handle all the way first.  Problem solved. Thanks guys
