I'm wondering if I can have an effective frog only set up using the gear I currently have?

I have the following rods/reels available to mix and match:

Rods
- 1 Bass Pro IM7 Graphite
- 2 Daiwa Graphite MFA662MRS   66" M 18-34oz  6-14lbs

Reels
-1 Zebco Legacy 22
- 2 Daiwa Megaforce 2000 ABS

I'm really not looking to purchase any new equipment if possible. This will be used for farm pond fishing and having fun. The reason I am posting is because last night a solid 3lb largemouth gobbled my frog and snapped my line with ease and took my frog too. I don't want that to happen again, so I'm hoping I can get a solid set up for the cheap.

I'm thinking 15-20lb mono line will work better than the current 8lb I have on there.

Any help is appreciated!

Pick whichever rod is the stiffest and the Daiwa reel. Add some 20lb. line and you might have a chance. You really need a beefier combo, but if you want to get by with what you have on hand, then give it a shot.

Get braid for frog action. Many reasons. It floats, it cuts through grass and pads, and it won't snap.
