All boats that will be on Okee must have ALL the safety gear.....including flares, horns, whistles, pfd's and the rest.  The sheriff's department will be on the lake and they don't play.  Each item you do not have will cost you $50.00.  I will also be providing Coast Guard vessel safety checks and will award you the decal.  If you have the decal......the sheriff/game warden will most likely leave you alone.  Click the link below and see the check list.  PM me if you have questions.

Where do you put all that stuff. I couldn't fit that all in my boat, I would exceed the weight capacity. lo I bet my wife would like the toilet though. ~roflmao

I'm not going to touch that one ::)

The VSC site is for all size vessels and is geared towards seagoing vessels.....but if you study length requirements....you'll figure it out.

Okee is a VERY dangerous body of water if not respected.  FYI

LOL. :roll2: You know I have to pick on someone especially since I haven't seen Fogy around. I know that boat safety is serious business and believe me I respect large bodies of water. Which brings up something that I came across a couple of weeks ago. I was at a launch on the river just getting back from duck hunting when I saw a guy and his two kids paddling in. Now this guy had a nice aluminum rig with a 25 hp outboard and a fairly new looking trolling motor. When they got to the launch I asked him why he just didn't troll in and of course he said " not having a good day, my motor died and my trolling motor went out." This situation got me to thinking " man if that happened to me I would literally be up the creek with out a paddle." How many of you have paddles in your boats, I don't but I am going purchase one because that would suck. Just something to think about.

My nitro had a paddle. It can't hurt. ;)  Some of the bigger rigs will need that TM........but the chances of having them both go out at the same time is rare......unless they are using the crankin' battery as a TM battery to save on space and weight ~shade

In Florida you better have at least one paddle..........the rules state that is an optional device, but everytime DNR stops ya and you don't have one they will cite you.

Click on the link below.
Then click on Equipment requirements.
Input your boat length, and the needed equipment for the state of Florida, will be shown.

Nice link....think I'll put it over at the boat safety forum.... As you can see the paddle is "the needed secondary means of propultion"  If you have a TM.....that is considered the secondary means.  If we keep going like this, someone may have to move this thread to the boat safety forum lo
