NEW PERSONAL BEST - PINE CANYON LAKE CALIF

Here's a couple pics of new PB. Local pond Koppers frog, approx 5 feet deep, fishing from shore. Missed it the first time it exploded on my frog, knew from the start it was going to be a good one. Threw back to same general area half a dozen more times, last try it must have followed it out from his spot a few feet then it gulped it down and when I set the hook it was fish on, knew it a good fish from the pull it giving me even before he hit the weeds a dozen times before I was finally able to get it to shore. Luckily wife was with me with her camera and managed some good shots, scale showed 9lbs 12oz. Using a Powell 735 frog rod and bull frog pattern Koppers Frog.

The year still has opprotunities for my double digit to be caught. Here's to Hoping.

That's a great looking bass, and says a lot for the base management program.

Which of the Pine Canyons was it?

First one you come too, as for management the base has et the lakes fall into disrepair, choking with reeds, and what isn't growing is dying by the clumps and floating to the windward end creating a huge floating jam in front of the ramp. The spill way at the end is covered in reeds to out from shore about 15 feet. Can't even flip into the rocks Thanks for the compliment, it was a hoot to get it to shore
