BassinFever I've pasted your working Resumes here so folks wouldn't have to download it before providing you some input.

You need to work more on selling your self and focus on what you can bring to the table.  How are you going to help sell this product, how are you going to get the publics attention and make them aware enough to consider these items before other similar items on the market.  Basically what can you do for them.  Unless you luck is huge you will not walk into a deal where a company just decides to pay to cash to fish.  There are different programs for different levels of the game, but no company will just fork of stuff for free, they will need some return on their investment and that my friend is your fist goal; sell your self.  Right now reading over your first draft it's all about what you want and can get.

Also as an extra thought most seam to forget is one resumes will not suit every company, personalize it to that company everytime you send it out.

+ Background
My name is Jeromie Bongard. I am 26 years old and have lived in Colorado all my life. I have been fishing since I was about 7 years old. I started bass fishing about 4 years ago. I started tournament fishing this year to further educate myself in bass fishing.
I graduated high school in Canon City, Colorado. I went through one year of community college and started working so my wife could finish college.
I work for Fedex at Denver International Airport loading planes and I have been employed there for 4 years. I train people to load planes and I am the head of the safety committee for our shift.

+ Sponsors
I currently have no sponsors. I would like to gain any sponsorship possible. I am a people friendly person. I like to talk to people about my successes in fishing, or anything of the same interest.  With a sponsor I would represent your company in a good manor. I would do in store demos, local sports or outdoors shows.
With your sponsorship I would want to represent your company so any decaling for my vehicle would be great.  I would also want to represent you on the water so any kind of patches for my tournament shirt would also be great. I would like to represent the company in any way possible to make it a better and well known company.

+ Fishing Activities
I attended the club hotdog and bratwurst sale to raise money for our Junior Bassmasters and the Denver Bassmasters club.
The club has scheduled The C.A.S.T. event to take kids with disabilities fishing.
The club also has scheduled an event to take military kids fishing while their parents are serving our country in Iraq.

+ Tournaments

+ Equipment
I use a variety of different equipment. I like to use different things to find what works good and what I can tell other people to use and try to make their experiences better.

There are several resumes in the Resume board. Some of them are quite good and some are still being worked on actively. You might also take a look at those to get ideas that you Goth use in your own resume.

I also highly recommend purchasing Fish For Free and Fish For Free II as they are both very enlightening when you are seeking sponsorship.

Think about it like this, when you go to a store to buy something (pay money for it) you want to get what YOU WANT not what the store wants, so do the sponsors ;)

Thanks for the ideas I hope they keep coming. I know you can't have a perfect resume but I just want to be able to sell myself to different companies and maybe not just target one particular company or is that something I should do? Is target individual companies.

Bassinfever,

I have spent the past two years developing my personal resume, I have worked the folks @ ESPN and several outdoor writers to generate what I think is a pretty good formula.

1. The order in which you present your resume is crucial, This is not a resume for a job and should not look anything like a job resume.
a. List any and all sales experience
b. List and define the number of people you are going to potentially expose the companies product to, those are called impressions
c. List any article you may have written or even the number of post you have on multiple message boards. (everytime you post on a board that is a impression. Down load the UB.com media package and get the stats of visitors and that can help you determine those impressions
d. Explain to them (if non-fishing sponsor) why hey should be advertising in the fishing market.
e. Explain to them why they should choose you, set yourself apart form others.
f. List any and all recent tournaments you've fished and the results
g. List all specail accomplishments (tournament wins, big bass awards)
h. List all your current equipment, including your tow vehicle. Basically everything you use to catch fish
i. List all sponsors, this must be last because potential sponsors really don't care who you have and if you don't have any than DON'T tell them you don't.
j. If you have to hire a photographer to get it get a high quality DIGITAL pix of yourself to include with the resume and all way's send it in an envelope color other than manila. Even if it's pink they are going to see that before the other 500 manila ones.

You have to be able to sell yourself before you can sell anybody's product.

If you feel this is too overwhelming feel free to check wwwbassanglersnetwork.com and check out our resumes we can give you a professional resume (full color) up to 6 pages for $325 if you don't have that much info to fill out 6 pages then we can discount for what you do have.

Thanks Laurie for the plug  :)

Brad......great ideas.  Brilliant!!

One thing I might contribute.....proposal. Recently, as most of you know I landed a sponsor based entirely on what I PROPOSED to do for my potential sponsor.  Keep in mind I don't fish tournaments and haven't for over 5 years (well I did fish one knock-down drag-out in LA with a group called LOCKJAW) and I don't have a resume.  Never have.
