livewell for jon boat

i made one out of an old cooler for a friend of mine. at the bottom of the cooler is a drain which can be taken apart. after you take the drain out you can run a peice of clear hose through it and seal around the hose. put the live well pump on the end in the cooler. now take a piece of pvc pipe about a foot long and drill some small holes in it and cap one end. shove the uncaped end of the pvc pipe in the hose. now fill with water and see where the water line is going to be to keep bait or fish in it. about 2" above the water line drill a hole through the cooler and run the pvc pipe and hose through the hole. mount it to the side of the cooler so the holes you drilled face the water. also run the wires of the pump back out of the cooler through that hole and then seal the hole. the water will pump through the hose and spray back to keep the water rich with o2. i may be able to get a few pics of it if he is around. doug

you want to make one a sell it?  IF you did what price would you want for it?  I use a 4 dollar plastic container and i 20 dollar aerator.  Your idea prolly works a bit better though.

if you bought everything to make one it would be around $50-60 just to take a guess. i had all but the hose when i made the first one. the hose was about a $1.75 for 3ft. depending on how big of cooler you want will make the price go up or down. doug
