Hi,forum
on BFS reel, lighter spool seems more beneficial to throw light lures further.
so how about making Shallow spool that is like DRUM CAN which has no shaft attactched to it
thus no any stucture inside of it to being attach to spool shaft. as those things can be quite weighed
much. Rather spool inside is totally Empty space like DRUM CAN

THEN How it work as spool?
there is spoof shaft and two bearing of each side already built in and you just wear the spool to it.
Bearing is so large enough to fit inside of DRUM CAN SPOOL.

without shaft, sole can spool weigh much less than with shafted.. so guess it can be even weight less
than 2g max. which'll cast light lure further as well as heavy lures.

btw, then How ready-shaft turn the empty spool?
in the middle part of spool and position when capped
spool has gear teeth and shaft has bending working arm gear like robot arm.
so if you turn your handle forward, arm gear move forward and mesh with spool gear. and it works like
normally like when reeling. when turn the handle, spool running back retrive or wind up line.

both Bearing's outer flat side which is located full left and right side of spool and in the middle of bit flattened gear those 3 parts will fully supported to spool inside so it won't be a problem at all fighting big fish.

and if you turn reel's handle back with a bit of light force only a bit. then spool become free like when pressed thumb bar.

so this time, just using your handle for making spool free or geared.
while fishing, you can at any time turn handle back means release spool(not geared) free spin.

at outer part of Reel's Handle where star drag is located, there is small dial with numbers on it. that is adjusting level of making inside bend gear's distance so it can actually changing to gear ratio.

What about Thumb bar in the Reel, then?
it's totally not working for spool's rotation.
but it's just Brake system. you press down that makes lever pulling down which makes magnets closer to
spool meaning more brake apply to spool. if you fully press down the maximum brakes is being apply to
spool.  however, starting point is where you set the number outside of side plate where brake settings
are. at any point you set, brake starts from that point.

thanks for reading.
any comments is welcome.
