Rarely do I agree with what Bassmaster has for my state. To their defense I don't know how they gain their information. TO be honest a couple lakes I'm glad they don't know about.

A lake 30 minutes from me, Hosston Lake, for the last two year, no matter what time of year (to include last weekend) it takes over 25 pounds to win and a big bass of 8 or better. Several 10 pounders and a 13 caught this year and that's just the fish I personally know about.

They did pick a couple that are respectable but really the stats they list are generally from spring tournaments, all lakes a great in the spring...

So what's your most productive lake, for stringers and giants?

I'm gonna fish Hosston someday. We stopped there on our trip and it look awesome.

I'm gonna fish Caddo too. And...

man, with all the pressure that lakes get today, having access to a few NOT on the list that are as good/better?  priceless.

kind of same reason I won't post fish pics that give any cues to 'where'.  tough enough to find places to just go enjoy the moment and do so in peace and quiet.

there's this spot on a lake I really want to fish.  every time I go by, there are usually 4-5 boats all within a long case from each other.

so I wait.  bide my time.  knowing full well when 'no one is there' neither, likely, will the fish.

I just got my latest edition of Bassmaster Magazine.  The story is in there  ~shade   I went on line to the website and there's no mention of the story at all.  BassFan didn't have any story line on there either.

Hey don, What was the top 3? Im guessing my region is in there. Think it was 2 last year. The way the fishery is this year I wouldn't be surprised if it gets back to #1 this year or next.

Thank you! I had a sneaking suspicion after a couple outings that the Thousand Islands may be able to take #1 and it seems healthier than ever! I haven't caught a smallie under 4 pounds yet this year. Its hog town city for bronze backs right now.

No problem. I'm not sure how they decide which lakes make the list. I was surprised at some of the ones that made it and some that did not.

I was looking at the list for Texas and I was wondering also how they determined what got selected etc.  For example O.H. Ivie I think the only reason it got selected was from all those double digit fish that got caught back in the late Winter and Spring.  FFS fishing plays a BIG PART in all those fish being caught there.  Some of the lesser Known lake in Texas same thing a Big Bass was caught back in the late Winter and Early Spring.

We have tons of lakes here in Texas and most are well known from having Skeeter Bass Champs, B.A.S.S. and Texas Team Trail Tournament events on them that get televised.

# 9 Oak Creek on the list I've never heard of this lake.  It must be a well kept secret fishing place.  It's located up near the city of Sweetwater in the Panhandle Plains Region.

# 16 Lake Nacogdoches on the list is a lake that has gain some attention.  I guess the only reason it got selected was back on 29 Feb 2020 a 15.34lb largemouth was caught.

For those interested in fishing here in Texas the link below will provide you with some very useful information

Yeah, they had a few MISSES in my region. Unless that's the best we have to offer, then how sad. These "top whatever" lists never impressed me. So many times "top" means "how much will the tourism folks PAY to be on a list.

lo  I did type it out. I couldn't find it in digital form, but I had the magazine. It didn't take that long.

I wish they would quit rating Clear Lake so high. Fishing has been very tough for at least 3 years. They are looking at the top of tournament results and seeing big weights. But the bottom 2/3rds of the fields are lucky to weigh-in 3 fish. We are not bothering to go over there these days.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

I remember Eufala being like that when I lived in GA. Had better fishing in the chattahoochie then the Manns world famous reservoir. Some of the inland lakes up here arent what they used to be.

glad Guntersville isnt on that top list anymore.  It never helps when there is a 300 boat tournament every weekend, along with the big bass bashes -- but I will leave that one alone

Working in NC regularly now so will have to bring the kitty up there one week and check out Jordan and there is another one next to it.
