Went out there Saturday for the first time ever and did a lot of (probably unnecessary) idling because I wasn't sure where it was safe to run. The east side of the lake, at least what I saw of it, looks like it's probably clear to run wherever, but heading west, towards the middle of the lake you start seeing timber, some barely sticking up above the water. This is well before you get to the boat road. If I were starting at the dam, is there a clear path to the boat road?

Also, there is a broken off post or big stump on the edge of the boat road at (N 32*49.050, W 094*39.580). Looks like a bad accident waiting to happen. Y'all watch out for it.

JW, here's the link to Lake O' the Pines from TPWD.  There might be some information in there you'll be able to use.  I seen TOPO maps at Academy and Walmart before on this lake.  You might check and see if they still carry them.

Thanks Don. I may go to Academy and look at their maps.

Wish I could be more help but I've only fished by the dam and we didn't worry about where we went. I've been told there is safe running until the bridge at the north end but I can't tell you how that works. I have a couple friends that fish it a lot, I'll see if I can get some intel.
