I wish I could blame the banana.

Two trips. Two most recent trips.  Last week Clearlake, this week CA Delta.

Wah!   Two skunks.  Haha.  Yesterday they were hitting the umbrella-rig which I don't own.  I woke up early this morning and remedied that ASAP.   Our Striper season is gonna ramp up soon, so I will try with my New a-rig.  My friend did well with his A-rig.  It was fun to watch.

Yesterday was brutal. For me. :)

I never understood the "Banana Thing". Someone can explain?

Mostly just one of those fishing "superstitions".

The origin(or so I was told) had nothing to do with fishing but more with boats in general. Back in the day when "bananas" were shipped to other countries there would be deaths and illnesses and other things that were then attributed to the "bananas". In reality it was the "banana spider" that was hidden amongst all those bananas biting sailors and causing all those issues.

I'm sure a banana shaped lure would be close enough to a senko shape it would catch fish?!?! Some of those big topwaters already look like a banana imo.

It's amazing what a bad day can be blamed on, swindle once tore his boat apart looking for one before tournament start because somebody told him there was one in the boat, got into his head and he ruined that day of fishing.

Thanks for the explanation. I admit, I have to laugh at the concept, but it is humorous. That's like when my grandfather used to say, the fish weren't biting because the beer was warm and not cold. Good times...

hahhaha..

a Banana is almost perfect kayak fishing food.  the peel decomposing in my kayak kinda sucks, but in general, it is a good quick snack.  especially with a squeeze packet of good peanut butter.    i'll continue to flirt with disaster.  :)

I have them in my boat for snacks and part of the lunch meal sometimes.  I'm like everyone else enjoy the snack and Fish On  ~bb

My pink fish whistle is a different story, it's scientific, if I leave it home I don't catch fish. Same with my lunch, no peanut butter and baloney sandwiches, no fish........ It helps if I fart once in a while though.
