I notice more discussions about powering all the electronics that are being added to bass boats these days.  Since I don't own any of this stuff, have been worndering just how big a problem this may be.  By today's technology it seems adding more batteries is the singular solution.  This may be fine for those running a bigger boat just because of the space requirement to add batteries.

My question is.   Is this a problem or is it just an inconvenience you just have to put up with.

The next question is who do you think needs to create alternative solutions.  Battery Providers, Electronics Providers or do boat builders need to step up to provide additional space or power solutions.

I do know this, the big screens are a massive power draw.  Now add pumps, aerators, talons or poles and your cranking battery can be toast, quick.

I solved my problem temporarily with a big AGM, 220 amp hour,,cranking battery. But I wired in a separate elec system for a future aux battery to handle the new electronics in the future.  I also carry a jump box on my boat for an emergency start on the big motor if I need to.

The permanent solution will have to be another battery for most boats.  I can't see another way around it.

I run into issues and have to have a jump switch. I don't have 16 inch graphs but my graphs and an early catch making the livewell run longer, then the power poles, my 31 series battery starts having trouble about 3/4 of the day...

My problem is short boat runs. Since I don't fish large lakes that might require 15-20 boat runs, that would put a charge back on the battery, it's on it's own. There are days I get to my spot and never fire the big motor again.

However you question is one that hasn't been address with more storage but rather lithium batteries. Longer running time and you can put two where we care one regular battery.

I'm seeing lots of guys adding a lithium battery just for electronics. These batteries are pretty small and can be placed in the rod box.
