Some guys with the local Ducks unlimited are spearheading it. Everytime we have this, the du guys always show up in force. Never enough fisherman to matter.

About 20 people showed up. One very full dumpster.
A big thank you to the Highland DU guys!

Isn't Silver Lake part private property?

No. The city owns the lake, from the damn - up to the bridge (over the creek) at rt 160, by Grantfork.
The city owns property around the entire lake. In some spots it's a couple of feet, other spots several hundred yards.

Yes, anyone can fish it from shore. From a boat you need a city sticker. Which can be purchased from City Hall, M-f. Or the PD, anytime. Fees vary by HP and your address. Get on the cities website to determine your fee.
Their is a 50hp maximum.
As for the fee, I live in city limits and have a 25hp. My fee is $25 for the year.
How is it? It's been better. The past two years have been slow for me. Same thing reported from people with the Tuesday night league. Although when Dnr shocked it this year, they said the bass population was ideal.
Catfish are good. Crappie are abundant, but skinny.
