Couple years ago, I took my boat out to SoHo with Bigwrench to kind of shadow him while he was breaking in his rebuilt motor, just in case. We did a little fishing as well. Rick was coming up behind me into the river with his Hydrowave on. Bass were swimming right past my boat towards his.

I'm convinced, Hydrowave will attract bass. Saw no evidence that they'll make 'em bite though.

I'd like to have one... just too many other things I need more.  :)

I got one this spring and I'm a definite yah. Lots of settings to pick from but two stand out for me. Keep in mind I fish shallow a lot. The active pads setting has everything from frogs to splashing and if you are still slow and stealthy it will fire up bass in a pad feild. The other is bedding brim, I've fished through an area and nothing, turn around and go back through with the brim bed sounds on and it's a complete new area with activity and feeding bass.

Lastly, any of the Shad patterns will get the bait fish in the area moving. I've had huge balls of Shad following the boat, turn it off and they leave. What this means idk, bass aren't busting Shad on the side of the boat? But overall the area seems more active.

Finally like Lee said, it doesn't hurt. If nothing else it's covering up the trolling motor and sonar pings.

It's amazing that so many people on here use it, and I had never even heard of it. Doesn't get much marketing or advertisement I guess.

I do, and I've completely missed it. I guess I must tune out when they start trying to sell me stuff lol.

Okay, think I'm going to give it a shot (I'll start with the mini).

Will report back after Christmas on how well it works or doesn't (it's going to be given as a Christmas present).

The ones I have seen on TV all had the $400 version. I wanted to try out the $100 version but money has been tight. I have not heard much about the cheaper one but know the bigger one does more and that is what I have seen the big boys with, of course. Looking forward to trying it out, especially at some of the reservoirs I fish.

I've seen Timmy Horton on his show, show how to use them and do the settings for different things. It did seem to make a difference when he had it on VS off.

Sounds like Mike has it figured out for his area.

It is what it is, another TOOL you can use.

Got the HydroWave mini to try out (has two settings - frenzied shad and passive shad), so will definitely report back on how well it works! It's a Christmas present so report won't be till end of year though.  ;)
