Title: Anybody using Dobyns glass rods?
Post by: kidd on November 27, 2011, 10:29:59 AM
I'm in the process of switching all my rods to Dobyns and although I rarely throw cranks I love to use a glass rod for them and for treble hooked top water baits.  Just wondered if anyone here is using any of Dobyns' glass rods.

I don't own one, but I got the chance to try the 705cb and thought it was a awesome crankbait rod.  Felt really light and well balanced for a glass rod. With that said , for me anyway it's too long for a walking bait rod. But if the length isn't a issue for you it would probably work fine.

I have a couple different ones and love them. Most of all I am amazed at how lite they are compared to most glass rods. I highly recommend them.

I'm definitely wanting the mike long rod, a 705 glass, etc etc.  I appreciative your help in making my decision to go with Dobyns by the way.

It's easy to help out when it's about something I believe in. I'll be sure to let you know about the Mike Long rod. It should be awesome like the rest but I'll still let you know. I'm just as  excited about the micro rod. Had to see what the hype is all about.

I ended up ordering a 705 glass also and put a revo premier 6.4:1 on it for lighter cranks.  Absolutely love it and since I rarely throw cranks two cranking rods should cover it ha.  Now on to that mike long rod, DX745, 735, 736, etc etc.  Wow these rods are like candy O:-)
