Title: Welcome
Post by: Lawguy513 on November 18, 2010, 09:44:05 PM
Welcome to the Broke Sticks fishing club.  We are a team club with minimal rules to avoid stealing the fun of fishing.  I will be posting the rules in the very near future.  Like last year, the teams will have primary members, but will allow guests to fill in when one of the members is unable to attend.  The rule on this will be that any member can use any guest, even if the guest fished as a guest for someone else, but members cannot fish with other members other than their partners.  Also, we will have a championship which will be "for all the marbles"  We will keep track of points throughout the season for qualification for the championship.  The formula will basically result in qualification if you fish four of the seven tournmanets.  Also, if you win a regular tournament, your team will automatically qualify for the championship.  Of course, we expect everyone to follow the "rules of the road".  More to follow.

OK, so... who's in??

Very happy to have you guys back. I really enjoyed getting to know you from last season!  If we can get all of last year's members and add a few, we should have a really great year

I'm going to join by myself and invite a different teen angler each month from the Eastwood Youth Bass Club to fish with me. I think this club will be a great place to introduce up and coming anglers to tournament fishing. And, I'm going to enjoy the company with you guys and the competition!

See ya in January on Caddo!

Please don't take this in a bad way, but with the first tournament date on Caddo and the boat show tournament on the same date. About 90% of the boat show entries will be on Caddo, would y'all maybe be interested in switching the first lake with another. It's early and it's just an idea as the ramps on Caddo will be over loaded.

John I'm good with whatever we do, but I was thinking that it may not be a bad idea to switch Caddo & Black Lake Hosston. I think some of the UB members can tell you that during the Boat Show Tournament Caddo gets hit pretty hard and all the landings pretty much overflow. Just trying to give you a heads up, like I said I'm good with whatever we do.

That's kinda what I was thinking about those two just switching. Thanks for the heads up. What does everyone else think?

If memory serves me correct, the boat show tournament drew less than 10 boats last year.  I understand that it is being run different this year, and we wish them much success.  However, I am not sure that a scramble format tournament will generate enough pressure on Caddo to chase us off.  Once a schedule is set, it is generally a bad idea to re-open it and start revising.  However, we are certainly interested in your input, as we want this to be a club.  I will be posting a poll, which will close on Friday, to decide the issue.  After this Friday, the schedule will be set, and the end of time itself will not change it.

Hey guys,

I'd love to join after fishing a couple of tournaments last year.  I'm in need of a partner so if any of you knows of anyone that needs a partner as well, please let them or me know.  Thanks!

We'll be glad to have you Chief.  I am sure we can find you a partner.  I know SillyBass is coming in from Monroe, and as yet does not have a partner...
